Curtis Moore was delighted to recently complete the first phase of re-roofing works at Park Primary School in Oban, following severe storm damage earlier this year. The project was secured and delivered within an exceptionally tight timeframe — from initial enquiry and pricing to being on site — reflecting the dedication and responsiveness of our team.
To minimise disruption to the school community, Phase 1 was carried out during the October holidays, allowing us to complete the essential works within a focused two-week programme. Close collaboration with Argyll and Bute Council’s Education Department, Thomasons, who acted as Contract Administrators, and the staff at Park Primary School was vital to achieving a smooth and efficient delivery. We are grateful for their clear communication and proactive support throughout.
Phase 1 works included the installation of a new Alumasc roofing system to Roofs A, B and C, the replacement of PVC windows, and the installation of new solar panels, enhancing both the school building’s performance and long-term energy efficiency.
Our Site Manager, John Allan, led the on-site team with professionalism and care, earning excellent feedback from the client — including a thoughtful thank-you card from the school upon completion. It’s always rewarding to see our team’s hard work and attention to detail recognised in this way.
Phase 2 of the works is scheduled for 2026, to be delivered during the school holidays, and we look forward to returning to complete the project.
