Curtis Moore are specialist installers of built up standing seam roofing and cladding systems. Being an approved Kalzip installer, and part of the world wide TEAMKAL network, we offer a bespoke partnering design and install service for high quality systems which have been used on many Iconic buildings throughout the world.
We partner with the specialist service contractors who complement the system by carrying out specialist site welding and installation of roof safety systems, barriers, walkways and PV Systems.
Since the company’s inception, Curtis Moore has continued to be involved in the composite panel market within the roofing and cladding Industry. As building standards have changed, so have the panel types and thicknesses and Curtis Moore have been actively involved in the development of vacuum handling techniques to reduce the issues associated with manual handling.
Curtis Moore have strong relationships with the worlds leading panel manufacturers and can offer a partnering design and install service with many underwritten warranty schemes.
As cladding systems have developed, the Rainscreen walling system has become a major part of Curtis Moore activities. This sector of our services has increased dramatically following the introduction of our SFS Framing division, and most of the projects we carry out offer a ‘Through Wall’ solutions for our clients.
Systems have evolved over the years and Curtis Moore supply and install a wide range of products ranging from:
Curtis Moore has successfully completed many large built up single ply-roofing projects throughout the UK. Within the business we have many skilled installers who are certified to install most of the leading manufacturers systems. The range of our projects varies from new build on metal, timber or concrete decks to refurbishment projects whereby we are called in to offer advice and specifications for roof renewal or overlay.
The manufacturers systems, which we are approved to install, include:
Curtis Moore supply and install traditional site assembled roofing and cladding systems as manufactured by all of the leading roll formers in the UK and Europe. These systems generally comprise of the traditional liner panel, spacer, insulation and top sheet to form an insulated roof or wall solution.
Systems range from exposed fix profiled roof and wall claddings to clip fix or secret fix profiles, which can be used on low pitch applications. The secret or clip fix profiles can also be used on facia and soffit claddings where the asthetics are improved with the elimination of exposed fixings.
Although our principal activities are that of an Industrial Roofing and Cladding Contractor, we also operate a Specialist systems division. Within the division, we offer a specification and design service specialising in Architectural panel, column encasure and bullnose systems, as follows:
We are often called upon to present and develop ideas and specifications to form entranceways, bullnose aerofoils, column encasures and feature panels. Included within our remit is the design and construction of all associated structural and secondary steel requirements for the project.
When requested by a Client to develop a scheme, we would call upon the expertise of our local fabricators and work in partnership to design and develop the system. Opposite are examples of recently completed projects whereby Curtis Moore have installed not only the panelling systems, but also the necessary structural and secondary support steelwork.
Sharing is caring!
When considering roof replacement, the prospect of disruption, inconvenience and loss of revenue could be quite daunting. There does come a time however, when repeated on-going maintenance is no longer a cost effective option, and replacement is the only long term solution.
Over the years, we have carried out many successful roof refurbishment projects to occupied buildings, whereby the Client has carried on with their operations below, with no disruption whatsoever.
A very successful method of hassle – free roof replacement, is by over cladding the existing coverings using the latest roof sheeting materials. The benefits of this method are as follows:
Whilst overcladding of existing buildings is a cost effective form of re – roofing, there are occasions when a complete strip and re – sheet is the most suitable option to consider, when planning a major refurbishment programme.
Traditionally, old Industrial buildings were originally clad with Asbestos Cement sheeting. Whilst over roofing is an option, we find that it has become more commonplace for clients preferences to be that of removing the asbestos cement materials from their buildings, prior to re-roofing taking place.
It is often the case that the re-roofing contracts which Curtis Moore undertake are carried out whilst the Clients activities are on – going throughout the construction period. We are therefore required to coordinate the works in a manner which allows the Clients activities to continue uninterrupted, and poses no threat to their employee’s health and safety.
Curtis Moore are very proud to offer a ‘Full Project Service’, when we take the clients requirements from the inception of the project through the design and construct stage to completion on site. The process involves several disciplines in the Construction Industry, whereby our in house team of design and cost professionals work with the Client to ensure that the best possible solution is achieved relative to budget, quality and programme requirements. Within our experienced team we have Structural Engineers, Architects and Quantity Surveyors who work with our clients to develop the design ideas and liaise throughout the construction process to ensure that all aspects of our clients requirements are catered for.
Curtis Moore often take on the role as Principal Contractor when our refurbishment projects fall under the requirements of the CDM Regulations. This assists our clients greatly and gives them peace of mind that all legislative requirements are being dealt with. Whilst operating as Principal Contractor, Curtis Moore often engage the services of specialist sub contractors if required to complete the scope of the works. This again eliminates the requirement for our clients to deal with several contractors when contemplating a refurbishment project. We have received excellent feedback from clients who have chosen the Full Project Service, saying that the tailored approach, attention to detail and professionalism meant that their project was delivered on time on budget and exceeded expectations.
For many years, Curtis Moore did not carry out hard metal projects and if any arose these were sub contracted to specialist contractors. We decided to recruit specialist installers and managers and opened a hard metals division in 2007.
Since the division was formed, Curtis Moore have developed the infrastructure and expanded operations to our current levels and carry out many specialist projects throughout the UK. Recognising that there is a skills shortage in this sector of the Industry, we ensure that we have apprentices constantly in the programme to ensure a sustained level of service in this very specialist field.
Products and Systems which Curtis Moore are approved installers include:
Curtis Moore have carried out extensive flat to pitched roofing projects, whereby metal clad roofing systems have been installed to newly formed structures secured to the existing roof construction.
Time expired built up roof coverings can often be costly to completely strip off and renew with multi-layer bitumen felt systems. As a cost effective option, a flat to pitched roof conversion is often an economic and desirable alternative to consider.
There are various methods of providing a pitched structure, however the most common forms are that of lightweight modular systems whereby rafters are fabricated from pre-formed components, and assembled at existing roof level. Not only are these systems cost effective and fast to erect, but the lightweight nature of the system makes it suitable for most building where increased loadings would normally have presented a problem.
Curtis Moore has a division specializing in the design and installation of SFS Framing and infill panel systems. This division was introduced following the request from our clients for a one stop ‘through the wall’ service. The benefits of having the framing installation contained within the cladding package are many and eliminates the need for clients to split packages and design / installation liability. We have in-house design and work with all of the leading manufacturers of cold rolled framing systems.
With all work we do, only the finest products are acceptable. Curtis Moore are proud to in partnership with the following products throughout all of our projects.
