Curtis Moore secured the roofing and cladding contract at St Dominic’s Primary School in Airdrie after having worked with Morrison Construction on a number of successful projects over the years. The project saw Curtis Moore install Kalzip standing seam to the roof, Benchmark to the walls and Trespa rainscreen walls. The state-of-the-art new building opened almost exactly three-and-a-half years to the day since the previous school was completely destroyed by fire in March 2015. Alastair Chapman, Contracts Manager at Curtis Moore said “We were delighted to once again work with Morrison Construction on this fantastic project, during which we installed the new Trespa cladding system. Easy to install, it really emphasised the design and aesthetic of the building and will remain looking great for many years to come. We were delighted to bring the project to completion with no issues or delays on site due to the excellent partnering between the teams at Curtis Moore and Morrison Construction.” The new school boasts bright classrooms and spacious teaching areas with floor-to-ceiling windows and direct access to the outdoor spaces, plus a half-glass wall to the activity area and its e-learning zone, library and soft seating area. The dining hall and kitchen can open up onto the games hall, which also includes an accessible stage with lifts and hoists at each side and accessible gym changing facilities.
