Curtis Moore are delighted to have completed the cladding installation at the ‘Manhattan’ development in Manchester on behalf of Russell WBHO. The Manhattan is a fantastic new development by Property Alliance Group which comprises of 42 one and two bedroom luxury apartments in Central Manchester. The apartment building, formerly known as Devonshire House, is now known as ‘Manhattan’, having been inspired by 1920’s styling and situated just off New York Street, on the edge of Chinatown. Originally a 1970’s 5 storey office block, the project has seen the original front facade retained, the existing building refurbished, and then extended by two storeys to create the stunning new 7 storey development. The windows to the front facade are in a ‘crittal’ style to emulate a New York Loft apartment look. The team at Curtis Moore installed Eurobond Rainspan composite panels, with a 3mm solid aluminium rainscreen system over the top. The eye-catching feature panels below the windows on the front elevation were also a 3mm solid aluminium system and powder coated to an anodic bronze finish – not only ultra-durable to withstand weathering, but they delivered a stylish and contemporary finish. We completed the works by installing Corium brick tile cladding system to the balcony area. James Keery, Regional Operations Manager at Curtis Moore said of the project, “This was a highly successful and significant transformation of a somewhat unappealing office building to an ultra-premium apartment building. It was a pleasure to continue our relationship with Russell WBHO by partnering on this landmark development and, despite the access restrictions associated with the city centre location, we are delighted to have completed the project on time, on budget and to the highest quality.”
