East Ayrshire Learning Campus (William McIlvanney Campus)

Curtis Moore secured the contract for the roofing and cladding installation at the East Ayrshire Learning Campus (officially named the William McIlvanney Campus) in Kilmarnock, Scotland. Working on behalf of main contractor Kier Construction, Curtis Moore installed Boothe Murie’s built up Rainscreen Systems across all elevations and a Kalzip standing seam roof to the building’s sports block.
 
The new £45m state-of-the-art learning environment for children and young people was the result of the merger of Kilmarnock Academy, James Hamilton Academy, New Farm Primary and Early Childhood Centre and Silverwood Primary. The facility was provided by East Ayrshire Council through the Scottish Government’s Schools for the Future programme, managed by the Scottish Future Trust.
 
The new campus also features a centralised facility for Gaelic language provision, called Sgoil na coille nuaidhe – literally translated as New Woods School (this also translates, appropriately, as ‘new beginnings’).
