We are proud to announce that we will be working alongside construction firm Galliford Try on the £8.4m Nexus Training Facility in South Shields.
In 2018, Nexus, the public body which owns and manages the Tyne and Wear Metro, was given the green light to build a state-of-art, bespoke training facility in South Shields town centre.
The 33,500 sq ft training facility will be used as a railway skills centre to deliver a wide range of infrastructure and operations training more than 1,000 member of staff.
The centre will contain driver training, lecture and meeting rooms, offices, staff room, canteen and changing facilities, plus an enclosed light maintenance area including train inspection pits, a platform and mock station complete with lobby and barriers.
Curtis Moore has been contracted to install single ply roofing and a built-up Euroclad wall cladding system. Our work will commence in May 2019
Construction work is planned to be complete in late 2019.
We are delighted to be working alongside GallifordTry, whom we’ve previously worked with to deliver a primary and secondary school in Wick, Scotland.
You can keep up to date with the project on the Or, if you’d like to find out more about the work we are doing for the project, please email us on enquiries@curtismoore.co.uk.
