Curtis Moore is delighted to be working alongside Balfour Beatty again on the new student accommodation project on Kennedy Street in Glasgow.
The student accommodation development on the east side of the city will have 536 bedrooms, split across two blocks around a central courtyard containing 149 self-contained studios and 387 bedrooms in cluster flats.
This is Balfour Beatty’s first project for the direct let market as a developer of student accommodation.
Construction work on the new residences began in November 2015 and the works are on course for completion by July 2017.
Roofing and cladding works
Curtis Moore teams were deployed on site mid September 2016 conducting the Kalzip roofing works and a small amount of Kalzip wall cladding. We are currently on the final stages of our work.
The new student accommodation will include premium indoor and outdoor amenity spaces for students in addition to a retail unit on Kennedy Street.
We are very excited about this project as the demand for new student accommodation is high and developments like this help attract students to the great Universities Scotland has to offer, which in turn helps boosts our economy.
