One of the many sectors Curtis Moore is proud to have won contracts in is the education sector. Since we set up the business nearly 16 years ago, we have been fortunate to work with a number of main contractors delivering primary schools, high schools and community campuses to provide a sustainable roof over the heads of the future great minds in the country.
Of the schools and campuses we have provided roofing and cladding solutions for, there have been few similarities aside from the obvious client sector. Projects have ranged in terms of size, scope and requirements which we have been happy to facilitate.
Partnerships
Not all of the school projects we have worked on have involved us applying for tenders. Others have seen us working in partnership with other groups or directly with the local authority to bid and deliver our projects.
One of our most recently completed projects, Alford Community Campus in Aberdeen, saw us work alongside main contractors Morrisons and hub North Scotland, which is a partnership of private and public sector bodies working together to provide community services in the area. We also worked with the same pair on the Wick Community Campus project, which saw us providing an envelope solution.
We are fortunate to be part of an improvement framework programme which has seen us undertake roofing works on a number of South Lanarkshire Council schools as part of a £400 million regeneration programme. We provided roofing for the unusually designed Spittal Primary and Glengowan Primary.
Current school projects
At present, we are continuing to provide quality and bespoke roofing solutions for a number of schools across Scotland, both as partnerships and directly with the council. At the moment we are just starting on-site with Bilston Primary, with McLaughlin & Harvey, and also Newton Primary where we are working directly with South Lanarkshire Council (SLC). Our direct communication with SLC also extends to New Lanark Primary School, St John’s Primary and Kirklandpark Primary School. Working directly with Argyll & Bute council, we have also worked on Islay Primary Schools and Park Primary in Oban.
In addition, Curtis Moore is continuing our partnership with Lend Lease, having provided roofing and cladding solutions for Kirkton Primary, St Leonards Primary, Southpark Primary, St Mark’s Primary and many others. We are currently working on Lenzie and St Patrick’s Primary schools.
Following our opening of our office in Yorkshire, we have been fortunate to develop relationships with many leading main contractors and are currently working on three new build school projects.
From standing seam roofing to specific requirements such as aluminium roofing over swimming pool areas to maximise durability and acoustic performance, Curtis Moore has a standing and growing reputation for providing these solutions to the highest standard for schools in Scotland and beyond.
