In celebration of International Women’s Day we want to showcase some of the wonderful women who work at Curtis Moore at all levels who contribute to providing the highest standard of service that our team are known for.
The construction industry has traditionally been associated with high male employment, however there are certainly some brilliant women in roofing. We are all for innovating the construction landscape and championing more women to become fantastic roofers and hold top positions within the industry.
In fact, Curtis Moore was co-founded by our very own leading lady Yvonne Devlin back in 2000, and with her two daughters also taking up important roles in the business, Curtis Moore is very much a supporter of women in the construction industry. At present, women make up around a quarter of our office workforce, and although females are still somewhat underrepresented on the building site, as a company we have made efforts to change that, we now have a female site manager in Abby Glen who is doing a fantastic job.
Business Development Director, Ashleigh Thomson commented on the subject saying, “having worked for the business for over 7 years, I’ve noticed quite a dramatic change in the people I liaise with on a daily basis. Although men still dominate the industry, more and more women are taking on high profile, skilled positions. I find myself now regularly dealing with female estimators, quantity surveyors, project managers, architects and cost consultants which is really refreshing to see.”
