We are delighted to announce the hiring of our first Apprentice to join our newly-formed Joinery Division here at Curtis Moore.
Kieran McNiven, 19, has embarked on a Joinery Apprenticeship with us, thanks to the support of Routes to Work, the DWP-funded initiative designed to help unemployed jobseekers find jobs with local employers. Routes to Work have been instrumental in offering full support to both us and Kieran during the recruitment process to help him with a smooth transition from long-term unemployment to a promising future career as a qualified Joiner.
Kieran has already shown great commitment and effort in attending a number of training courses, work placements and volunteer sessions to grow his skillset and we’re so pleased to see his enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity shine through.
Euan Walker, Managing Director at Curtis Moore said, “Young people are the future of our industry – by offering employment, training and support opportunities, we can help young people gain new skills and really excel in the workplace to plug the skills gap we see in the construction sector today. In return, we’re rewarded with bags of enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, commitment and loyalty. There’s nothing better than seeing a young person’s self-esteem and hope for the future being elevated through employment and full support.”
