At Curtis Moore, we are thrilled to announce a significant achievement in our role at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the largest construction project in Europe and one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure developments. As the dedicated roofing and cladding contractor for HM1 and HM2, we take immense pride in contributing to the development of this large-scale energy project, which is set to play a critical role in the nation’s energy future.
Handover of Unit 1 Turbine Hall
A proud moment has been reached with the formal handover of the Unit 1 Turbine Hall (HM1) to Arabelle Solutions, signalling the completion of a key construction phase. This marks a major milestone in the project, as Arabelle Solutions now prepares to begin their fitout activities inside the turbine hall. The achievement of this handover is the result of years of hard work, meticulous planning, and dedication from all teams involved.
The scale of the work completed in the past five years is remarkable:
- 9,500 tonnes of rebar installed
- 44,000 cubic meters of concrete poured
- 11,000 tonnes of structural steel erected
- 15,000 square meters of wall cladding completed
- 6,500 square meters of roof cladding installed
Despite challenging conditions and a rigorous schedule, the collective efforts of the CI BYLOR team and all supply chain partners have ensured that the project continues to progress at a high standard of safety and quality. This is truly a testament to the collaborative spirit driving the success of Hinkley Point C.
