We’re delighted to introduce Abbey Glen, our newest site manager to join the Curtis Moore team.
We have received recognition for our efforts to encourage more females to get into the construction industry – so, we’re particularly excited about Abby’s appointment as she will be the first female site manager we have recruited.
Abby began in the industry 8 years ago, when she started training to become a roofing and cladding installer. She is the daughter of one of our sub-contractors and has worked with her father’s company for 7 years and throughout that time she gained valuable experience in the roofing industry.
Achievements
Now 28 years old, Abby has undertaken SSSTS training, Level 2 Roof sheeting and cladding, level 3 Gold CSCS card and is aiming towards her level 4 Black CSCS card. She also holds her CPCS ticket for telehandler including 360, Ipaf ticket, Pasma ticket and basic scaffold inspection ticket.
She also completed the foundation and intermediate levels Construction Engineering course down at the CITB College just outside Norwich.
A career in management
Abby decided over a year ago that she wanted a career in management and moved on to become a site manager for another roofing contractor, where she extended her knowledge and skillset.
With women making up around a quarter of the company’s in-house workforce including at senior level and now on site, Curtis Moore is challenging the perception that construction is a male dominated industry.
Abby joined Curtis Moore at the beginning of February and is looking forward to gaining further experience and progressing through the ranks of Curtis Moore.
