It was a very busy week for the team at Curtis Moore last week. Over and above the day-to-day work and the increasingly busy start we’ve made to the year, we were involved in two major industry awards ceremonies; Wednesday night at the Hilton, Park Lane, London for the Construction News Awards, and on Thursday night at the Kalzip Awards at Carden Park in Chester.
Naturally, we were delighted to be finalists at both events, it’s always good to be recognised within your own industry, and these two events are among the most prestigious in the calendar.
It was a glittering occasion in London, with an impressive attendee list with many of the best construction companies in the country in attendance, it was a real pleasure to be a part of it all. Unfortunately, we were narrowly beaten for the Uk Roofing Contractor of the Year by worthy winners, Briggs Amasco – congratulations and well done to them.
Coming so close has only strengthened our resolve to be back again next year where we hope to go one step further and win the coveted award.
Thursday night was much more successful, we were named Kalzip New Contractor of the Year – an award that we certainly won’t win again next year!
It has been an amazing start to our relationship with the Kalzip and we’ve enjoyed every minute of the journey, they really are a fantastic company to work with and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them in the future. Next year, we’re setting our sights on the Contractor of the Year award!
Of course, it wasn’t all about black tie dinners and celebrations, our team enjoyed a very informative day on Thursday attending the annual Kalzip Conference where they were able to hear about developments within the organisation and the industry in general. The Awards Dinner was rounded of with a fantastic presentation from former England and British Lions rugby player, Garreth Chilcott.
So, the trophy is back in Glasgow and we’re back to business as usual, with lots going on and many opportunities in front of us, so we’re sure it won’t be the last award to find its way to our boardroom.
The picture immediately below shows Euan Walker receiveing the award on behalf of Curtis Moore from Gareth Chilcott, (on Euan’s right), and Kalzip Managing Director, Dr Joreg Schwall (on Euan’s left). We’ve also included some other pictures from a great day at Carden park.
