Curtis Moore is delighted have worked on the Dundee Railway Station project, including a brand new 120-room hotel and several retail units.

The £38 million project was built as part of the £1 billion redevelopment of the entire Waterfront site by Dundee City Council. The scope of works carried out by Curtis Moore includes the complete external envelope consisting of Alphaton Terracotta, Senses Aluminium rainscreen & Baguette Cladding supplied by James & Taylor, as well as PPC circular column casings & Eyebrow flashing to the east & west elevations, supplied by FAB24. All flashings for the project had to be manufactured with curves to match the radius of the building.

The complex geometry of the building coupled with the fact it was situated at a live railway station in the busy area of Dundee Waterfront made for a more challenging project.  Not only this, the volume of other trades working at any one point along with a deadline for completion prior to the Golf Open in Carnoustie starting on the 15th July increased the challenges and although the majority of the project was done within normal working hours, the trackside work at the west elevation was all completed during nightshift.

This project was run by Graeme Ritchie, Andy Kelly and David Robertson overseen by Alex Miller our Operations Director, who have all done a fantastic job producing an outstanding looking building delivered to the client on time.

The revitalised Dundee Station creates a gateway to the city and is an excellent example of how the industry can work in partnership with the public and private sector to deliver to wider regeneration goals.
